Volcanoes national park in Rwanda has five habituated gorilla families and tracking most groups in the afro-montane forest and evergreen bamboo usually takes a few hours. You can also climb a volcano, visit the remains of the famous Dian Fossey's grave or visit the endangered golden monkey.

The mountain gorillas are the major attraction in volcanoes national park with gorilla trekking happening all year round. Because of the high altitude it is mostly cold, especially early morning and late evenings, you are advised to carry a light sweater for these times. The park is located only 2 hours from Kigali in the north of Rwanda.
You have a chance to tour in the only green in east Africa and most vibrant capital city “Kigali”. There are several gorilla families in volcanoes national part of which some are habituated for gorilla tourism and research, still others are not habituated. To track gorillas, one need to purchase a gorilla permit in advance before your safari begins.

Following Africa hot breakfast, depart for a briefing on dos and don’ts before you do set off into the forest for gorilla trekking.

Spend time watching gorillas, watch the adults feeding their young ones, grooming and resting as the youngsters play from vines in a delightfully playful display.

Following an early morning breakfast, you either go for gorilla tracking again (that is on payment of supplement at time of booking), or visit the golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park or opt to climb the Visoke/Muhavura volcanoes, or decide to have a visit/trek to the most and famous primatologist and conservationist Dian Fossey's grave in Karisoke research centre, or visit the local school, community projects.

Following breakfast very early in the morning, depart for Kigali city tour as you enjoy the last day in the land of 1000 hills.
The city includes different visits such as the market, a pottery project, handicraft shops, the Franco-Rwandan cultural center and the famous genocide memorial. For survivors and others whose families were murdered in Rwanda´s genocide 1994, the memorial sites and centres are places of dignified remembrance for loved ones lost. It is also a place of reflection and learning for the wider community, both in Rwanda and internationally.
Have lunch en-route and then transfer to the airport.
