Upon arrival at Kigali international airport, meet and great with our safari expert that will give you highlights on 6 days safari. we depart to explore the beauty of Kigali city that offers a number of activities such as Genocide Memorial, cultural craft centers, Kandt National Museum etc. On this we shall choose which sites to visit as we shall be departing for Akagera national park in the afternoon lunch in the city. 

Akagera National Park is located in eastern part of Rwanda taking about +/-2 hours arriving late afternoon for check-in at your lodge. You can have short stopovers for photos en route to Akagera park a place of beautiful landscape.

Following early morning breakfast. We depart to explore the greatness of Akagera national park on a game drive in search of big mammals like Elephants, Giraffes, Buffaloes, several Antelope species and recently the re-introduced Lions.

Akagera game drives normally happen in the northern part of the park where we shall spend the better part of the day and return to the lodge later afternoon. Akagera national park is the biggest in Rwanda with beautiful scenery and landscape.

It has varied habitats for wildlife and a birders haven with over 500 species. There are also opportunities to explore the park by taking a nature walk, this can be incorporated on request especially in the afternoon. You also have opportunities of a boat safari on Lake Ihema to watch Hippos and crocodiles in the water or by the shores.

This morning we depart for Nyungwe forest having lunch en-route in Huye formerly known as Butare. The journey takes you through the winding roads of Rwanda and beautiful scenery of the countryside. We will explore the ethnographic museum learning about the Rwandan history and culture. We proceed to Nyungwe forest that evening arriving later in that evening.

Following an early morning breakfast, we depart to Uwinka park headquarter for briefing on dos and don’ts while we tracking Chimpanzee and in Nyungwe forest as we set in different groups.

The forest is rich in botanical diversity holding over 200 species of trees and flowering plants. It is home to 13 species of primates including Chimpanzees, L’Hoest monkeys, Columbus monkeys and about 300 bird species for birders. You have an option to explore the forest/canopy walk in Nyungwe forest for great views after the chimp trek or simply relax at your lodge.

Wake up early enough, follow a hot cup of tea or coffee and after check out from your particular lodge. You will then head off to Butare museum and Nyanza Palance for a cultural tour.

En-route, have lunch and proceed to Kigali while enjoying the stunning views of the countryside. If your flight is scheduled today, drive to Kigali Airport and this will mark the end of your safari.
