Jinja is the second busiest commercial center after Kampala and is located at the northern end of Lake Victoria in South Eastern Uganda, approximately 85km from Kampala near the source of the Nile. As a visitor to the area, we can offer you a choice of activities, depending upon time and energy available.

This colonial town is also regarded as the "Adventure Capital of East Africa" with some of the most fascinating adventure activities in Africa. While in Jinja, you are spoilt with choice on which activities to choose from.

These range from: White Water Rafting, Kayaking, Quad bike riding, Boat Cruises, Horseback Safaris, Mountain Biking, Bird Watching, Fishing Trips, and in Jinja town you have a chance to visit the source of the mighty River Nile.

White Water Rafting is done downstream below the new dam and extends into the section that was originally reserved for 2-day trips. Depending on your requirements and energy, you can choose from the hard way that is through the middle of the rapids or the easy way through the edge of the rapids, although sometimes it might not always turn out to be the case since the way you paddle determines the route you take while on the water. You can choose from the below options:

Full-Day Rafting; Half-Day Rafting; Extreme Rafting / River Boarding; Two-Day Rafting; Family Float.

Kayaking

Kayaking trips are organized depending on how much time you have at your disposal and these include; Full Day Introduction to White Water Kayaking, Two Day Introduction to White Water Kayaking, Half-Day White Water Kayaking, Sit-on-Top Kayak / Canoe Cruises, Stand-Up-Paddle boarding (SUP).

Quad biking

Quad bike riding is a fun way to spend a couple of hours. You have an opportunity to drive yourself off the beaten tracks through rural villages and farms. No previous experience is required and a practice session is provided before each trip starts on 3 particularly designed circuits.

Boat Cruises

Boat Cruises are arranged on the Nile and offer a great chance to explore the longest river in the world. Some times this can be incorporated with a 2 hour birding trip along the shores of the Nile and enjoy a variety of water birds and Nile monitor lizards while a number of people from nearby villages are often seen fishing on the Nile waters.

Horseback Riding 

Horseback riding Safaris of about 1, 2 or 3 hours in the morning and 2pm in the afternoon are done to explore the Nile River up close going through a traditional Ugandan village with spectacular landscape and magnificent panorama from the hills overlooking the Nile River valley. Minimal or no horse riding experience is required for the short safaris.

Cycling

Mountain Biking Rides and cycling are arranged depending on your energy and time; you have a choice of a physical challenge or just meander through the villages on the banks of the Nile.

Birding

Bird Watching in Jinja is common practice, since the country is one of the best places in the world for bird watching. Enjoy a memorable start to your day with 2 hours early morning birding excursion on the Nile or Mabira Forest and look out for a variety of water and forest birds.

Fishing

Fishing Trips are done on the Nile River and Lake Victoria with notable catches including; Nile Perch, Tilapia, Yellow Fish and sometimes the Cat fish is got. The following fishing techniques are often used; trawling, spinning and bait fishing. Both half day and full day trip are organized depending on your specific interests.

Payment Terms

A deposit of 40%-50% is required when booking this safari depending on the product to be booked. final payment will be required no later than 45-50 days prior departure. For any bookings made within mentioned days of departure, full safari fees, fares/amount will be charged upon booking.
