Mabamba wetlands, is located on the shores of lake Victoria and is considered one of the best birding sites in Uganda that offers an exclusive unique birding experience such as an encounter with a variety bird species and floral. Mabamba is one of the few attractions in Uganda which is a habitat to the rare shoebill stork. During this trip, you get to experience the unique and beautiful birding experience in Mabamba wetlands and around Entebbe Eco sites.
Highlights of the trip
Meet with the safari guide for a full briefing and thereafter set off for birding at Mabamba wetlands. Packed lunch ready with you. You will take a canoe ride at Mabamba where you will get closer to different bird species and floral that are habitants in the wetland. You may also see the rare shoebill stork.
Later in the evening, return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
This day you will go for birding at the Entebbe Botanicals gardens. This garden is located on the shores of Lake Victoria and is covered by diversified variety ancient trees, bushes and shrubs that house different bird species. This site is ideal for birding as you will encounter different bird species and primates especially monkeys. Later on, enjoy a picnic lunch.
After, proceed to Uganda Wildlife Education center (UWEC) participate in a forest walk and birding experience. You will also have a tour in the center where you will meet different animal species found there. Finally enjoy a sunset birding experience at the shores of Lake Victoria before being transferred to your hotel/ residence.
